Henry Timi: HT112
We have repeatedly used the Henry Timi: HT112 chair by Milan-based artist and artisan Henry Timi in our projects for its strong form, minimalist aesthetic, and beautiful, honest materiality. Launched in 2009, the Italian designer set out with his pure vision and ideology, designing and producing handcrafted objects that span both furniture and art in a refusal of the unnecessary.

The chair is defined by soft curves with raw finessed materiality, offering a juxtaposition reduced to three straight lines, a curved line, and a half disk. A balance of void space fulfils Timi’s design philosophy, quiet in nature, simplistic yet luxurious, monastic and restrained.

We love how the beauty of the material is allowed to shine. The detail of the timber polished and highlighted through the reduced form. The authentic joinery detailing reveal a duality, blending function and aesthetics. The piece is striking and memorable, adding to an art-like experience beyond the pieces utilitarian purpose.
